Boeing opened a Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) office in partnership with the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) to develop aerospace technologies and support Saudi Arabia’s efforts to establish knowledge-based programs and expertise.
“KAUST is a strategic partner to Boeing, and we as a company are committed to Saudi Arabia’s R&D community,” said Ahmed Jazzar, president of Boeing in Saudi Arabia.
“As a member of the KAUST Industrial Collaboration program, our goal is to facilitate both local and international industrial collaborations. This initiative with KAUST is a key tool for research within the Kingdom and a step in partnering with other Saudi organizations in to develop research and technology infrastructure, and capabilities here.”
Opening a Boeing office at KAUST will enhance Boeing’s ability to interact with the KAUST Industrial Cooperation Partnership (KICP) members. With a staff primarily comprised of Saudi nationals, the new office will generate new jobs, increase technology acumen among local youth and professionals, and support environmental and social sustainability across the region.
“The opening of a Boeing office at KAUST represents another milestone in our partnership,” said its President Chameau, “Our faculty, students and post-docs will benefit from this opportunity to explore big ideas in science and engineering with a global industry leader.”

Boeing is currently collaborating with KAUST on six major projects in advanced materials, computer modeling, solar power applications and industrial water treatment.
